Virtual Career Fair Connects Employees and Employers in Connecticut and Beyond

The Connecticut State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (CT SHRM) today announced their first-ever Virtual Career Fair. The career fair will take place online on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. As we all begin to recover from our national health emergency, CT SHRM has shifted its focus from dealing with a pandemic present to moving forward toward a bright future for job-seeking professionals and revenue-seeking businesses in CT and beyond. Recently, Connecticut had the second-highest unemployment rate in the U.S. at 7.9%. We are now teetering around 7.4%. As we all sustain our resilience and recovery through a world health crisis, significant local labor challenges continue to burden our state when it comes to hiring, attracting and retaining employees. CT SHRM’s upcoming Virtual Career Fair is responding to the critical needs of jobseekers, employers and community partners. “Getting people back to work is a critical priority for our economy, communities and so much more,” said Orlena Cowan Bailey, Director of CT SHRM. “The pandemic has caused seismic shifts in how we think about the future of work. CT SHRM’s all-volunteer leadership board is comprised of HR professionals throughout the state that know (all too well) and care about the challenges facing both employees and employers. We have earned our title as workplace first responders and know this is an excellent opportunity to leverage our expertise and networks to help move the needle forward,” she said.

What jobseekers can expect: • Registration for the CT SHRM Virtual Career Fair is free to all jobseekers. • Candidates will have access to live interviews, career tips and resources. • Remote access means candidates can participate safely from their home, office or mobile device.

What employers/sponsors can expect: • Reach target candidates in one virtual location. • Showcase your unique brand at a critical time for employers to attract the right talent. • Benefit from the exponential network outreach capabilities of CT SHRM and its members.

CT SHRM encourages all candidates and employers to Attend, Engage and Network at this timely event. For registration and sponsorship information visit:
