The Sixth Installment of “Conversations in the Gallery” Features Community Hero and Doctor Robert Gore

The special guest for the sixth installment of “Conversations in the Gallery,” presented by Richard Beavers Gallery and BK Reader will be Dr. Robert Gore. On Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm, this unique event, which usually explores art and pop culture, will focus on medicine and Dr. Robert Core’s community efforts.

As a resident of Bed-Stuy, Dr. Robert Gore is an attending physician and clinical assistant professor at Kings County Hospital – SUNY Downstate Department of Emergency Medicine in Brooklyn, NY. He is also a pillar in the community founding KAVI (Kings Against Violence Initiative), a hospital, school, and community based youth violence intervention prevention and empowerment program targeting teens that have been injured as a result of violence or at risk for violent and recurrent violent injury. Moreover, Dr. Robert Core facilitates Minority Medical Student Emergency Medicine (MMSEM) Summer Fellowship, which is a mentoring and enrichment program for underrepresented minorities interested in Emergency Medicine.

“It’s truly an honor to be able to share my community efforts on this platform. I want those to know that there are many diverse opportunities for our people and that giving back is always important no matter what you choose to do in life.”

-Dr. Robert Gore, Founder of KAVI and MMSEM
