WHAT: On Thursday, December 7th, 2017, from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, The Beehives co-owner and resident curator Jennifer Epstein and guest curator and artist Jeff Perrott are pleased to present the 26th installment in The Beehive’s continuing art series Sting! entitled Body of Light, which will be on view at the South End hotspot through February 2018.
The artists selected explore their subject as an illuminated as well as illuminating body – as intellectual, spiritual, social and/or political illumination. By breaking down and reformulating this body, the artists are replacing mere corpus and objecthood with new, diverse modes of luminescence itself.
The Beehive’s ongoing Sting! series always signifies the launch of a new art installation, and the opening of each exhibition highlights the many facets of The Beehives concept, bringing together great live entertainment, delicious food and libation specials along with amazing art! Body of Light was curated by Jeff Perrott, an artist and curator represented by Morgan Lehman Gallery in New York, NY and LaMontagne Gallery in Boston, MA. Associated galleries exhibiting Jeffs work include Zevitas Marcus Gallery in Los Angeles, CA, and S3 Contemporary in Boston, MA. Jeff’s work is featured in both corporate and museum collections such as the Wadsworth Atheneum (Hartford, CT); Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum (Lincoln, MA); the Whitney Museum of Art prints collection; Wellington Management; the Digitas Corporation; and KPFG San Francisco.
