Novack and Macey LLP Welcomes Three New Associates to the Firm

Novack and Macey LLP is pleased to welcome Ian P. Flanagan, Stephanie M. Moon and McKensie N. Villarreal as our newest associates to the firm.

Ian P. Flanagan will focus his practice on commercial litigation. Ian received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. After law school, Ian served as a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Albert Diaz, United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, where he drafted memoranda and advised on opinions in argued cases and non-argued cases. He also clerked for the Honorable Andrea R. Wood, United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, where he participated in drafting and advising on numerous orders and opinions on both dispositive and non-dispositive motions. While in law school, Ian was a summer associate at a large international law firm located in Washington, D.C., where he conducted research for briefs and dispositive motions, merger review, and internal investigations.
Stephanie M. Moon will focus her practice on general litigation matters including white-collar crimes, class actions, healthcare, and legal malpractice disputes. Stephanie received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Prior to joining Novack and Macey, Stephanie practiced at an AmLaw 200 multidisciplinary law firm, where she worked on civil rights class actions, appeals within the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, contract disputes, product liability cases, negligence, and wrongful death disputes. While in law school, Stephanie served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Magistrate Judge Michael T. Mason, where she conducted research on federal acts and regulations, as well as legal precedent for summary judgment opinions.
McKensie “Kensie” Villarreal will focus her practice on commercial litigation. Kensie received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law. After law school, Kensie served as a judicial law clerk for the Third District Appellate Court of Illinois, where she assisted in preparing appellate orders and pre-argument memoranda, edited and evaluated legal analyses, and advised on drafting opinions and orders in criminal and civil law cases. Before Kensie’s clerkship, she worked at the San Antonio Immigration Court as an Attorney Advisor for the Department of Justice, a position acquired through the Attorney General’s Honors Program, where she assisted in drafting opinions for 13 federal immigration judges. While in law school, Kensie served as a legal intern at the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, where she conducted research and drafted memoranda to support attorneys in the Prisoner Litigation Unit. For two summers, she served as a law clerk at the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB) of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington, D.C.
