Notable New Jersey Couples Therapist Interviewed On Regional Radio Show

Madison, New Jersey – Wendi L. Dumbroff, Licensed Professional Counselor, MA, LPC, was recently interviewed on The Jeanne Parnell Show where she shared insights on how couples can expand on their relationship and increase their level of intimacy. One factor Dumbroff spoke about was beginning an intimate encounter with “willingness” as opposed to desire. Often, “responsive desire” will occur- that is, it feels good and you remember why you wanted to have sex in the past.

Dumbroff continued to speak about how a parent’s initial experience of learning their child is sexually active can be difficult, but it can also be a conduit to further discussion. Dumbroff talks about the importance of parents having an opportunity to talk with their kids about sex, not only regarding safety issues such as pregnancy and disease prevention, and consent, but also that sex is something human beings do for pleasure.

During the interview, Dumbroff explains the positive results couples of all backgrounds can receive, when they invest their time in couples and sex therapy. She states, “They learn how to come back together, how to connect intimately and, ultimately, see overall improvement in their relationship.”
