National Cinematic Artist sold to Chakam Media in multi-million dollar deal

Los Angeles,CA – National Cinematic Artist/Chakam Media – National Cinematic Artist has been sold to Chakam Media, in a film and distribution deal worth $260 Million dollars over 5 years. The deal has been in negotiation since November 2014. Chakam and Henson completed the sale on February 18, 2015. Mr. Chakam has retained Stanley V. Henson,Jr. as a producer and board member, Chakam will assume the position of President of NCA. Chakam has made extreme changes to National Cinematic Artist, that will move NCA in a new direction.

NCA will complete Henson’s previous scheduled project for the TV series “Rise above the silver and gold (The Illumination)” in the genre of “Zhane’s Sex Chronicles”, “Power” and “Empire” for cable and Internet. However, Chakam clearly states that National Cinematic Artist, will no longer produce or focus on urban films. NCA will begin producing films that will target the U.S. China and Europe.

Chakam say’s the films Henson wanted to produce, were incompatible with his target urban audiences. Henson repeatedly found the projects difficult to cast due to the nature of the films. Chakam say’s “Henson is a producer with edgy themes, along the line of Michael Winterbottom and John Cameron Mitchell and his creativity was hindered because of determination to target African American cast and audiences.” NCA plans to implement a more diverse cast of actors, in projects and scripts Henson originally wrote for black actors and audiences. With this change, they expect the revenue to increase substantially.
