The Dream 11 Emirates D20 Cricket Tournament 2020 is being held in the Dubai International Cricket stadium behind closed door due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Owing to the health and safety concerns, spectators will not have access to the stadium to watch live D20 matches. However, some official media personnel will have access to the stadium to cover the games.

Indian Fantasy League Dream 11 is the title sponsor of this tournament and another key partner Sky247.net is the “Powered by” sponsor for ECB for D20 competition.

Six teams will compete against each other in the contest and play twice against each other in the group stages. The winner will be declared on December 24-final match of the league.

This tournament includes the same number of participating teams from the D10 league. The 20-over format tournament will feature a mix of the Emirates most talented senior and budding players.

Encouraged by the unparalleled success of D10 Cricket League, the Emirates Board of Control for Cricket (ECB) wants to organize the D20 Tournament as a strategic plan to promote local young cricketing talents across the globe. ECB also wants to encourage and develop the UAE’s sport and shape budding cricketers’ raw talents.

“Following on from our successful hosting of the Emirates D10 tournament during July and August of this year, it is my pleasure to announce that the Emirates Cricket Board has finalized a domestic D20 (20-over) tournament. This initiative is an integral step in promoting and developing the sport in the UAE.”

Khalid Al Zarooni, Vice-chairman of Emirates Cricket Board, stated, “Following on from our successful hosting of the Emirates D10 tournament during July and August of this year, it is my pleasure to announce that the Emirates Cricket Board has finalized a domestic D20 (20-over) tournament. This initiative is an integral step in promoting and developing the sport in the UAE.”

The selection committee chairman of Emirates Cricket Dr. Tayeb Kamali also commented, “In any sport, identifying critical talent is extremely important. Catching them young and grooming them deliberately and professionally within a conducive environment goes a long way in building a strong national team.”

We are confident that this tournament will help identify promising cricket talent who can then be further trained and integrated into the UAE National Team. We look forward to 12-days of thrilling, competitive cricket.” Dr. Kamali added.

UAE Cricket’s Director of Cricket, Robin Singh will witness the match alongside the National selection committee members. They will observe the players talents to consider them for future selection.
