Maria Balestrieri’s New Book, ‘Saved by Grace’, is an Enthralling Account About Courage, Strength, and Resiliency That Will Warm the Hearts of Its Readers

Maria Balestrieri, a wanderlust, a loving aunt to her six nieces and nephews, and an ardent churchgoer, has completed her new book, “Saved By Grace”: a deeply emotional journey of a woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer and endometrial cancer. This memoir highlights how she had learned to live her life anew after the devastating truth about her health took a toll on her.
Maria writes, “You’ve no doubt heard the old adage: ‘Life begins at forty.’ In my case, a truer statement could not have applied. That year, I was faced with what would be two bouts of cancer in eighteen months. My former life disappeared, and I learned to live what other survivors call the new normal. I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by family and friends during those difficult days, and soon, my friendships would grow exponentially as I began a new hobby. It is not just a hobby; it is a floating support group, and I have relied on them ever since.
I believe God’s grace has given me the strength and skills I needed to not just survive my health challenges but to thrive. Grace is also the nickname I was given by my dragon boat team, and it holds special significance. I believe that both God and my involvement with the team were key to my recovery.”
Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Maria Balestrieri’s new book is a heartwarming read that the author penned to encourage cancer patients that their life isn’t over yet. In her fascinating journal, she gives applause to her dragon boat team who played a significant part in her recovery. Moreover, she deeply hopes to inspire other patients through her life story.
