Lois Solverud’s New Book, ‘Where’s Hare’s Tooth?’, Is a Whimsical Fable About a Hare Who Looks High and Low for His Missing Tooth

Lois Solverud, a promising author, a passionate quilter, and a somewhat successful gardener, has completed her new book, “Where’s Hare’s Tooth?”: It is a cheery and witty tale that follows a day in the life of a lop-eared Hare who lost one of his teeth.
Lois writes in the book, “His snack was quite tasty as carrots can be until his loose tooth decided to flee.” The story is for beginning readers. Each page is filled with delightful illustrations and narrated in rhythmical prose that young readers will surely enjoy. Parents and adults will also enjoy the funny rhyming text as much as the young readers. It is a splendidly witty picture book that kids will love to read over and over again.
Lois relates: “For seven years, my collie (a therapy dog) and I have listened to first and second graders as they practice their reading skills. We service two area grade schools, and the learning experience has been as much mine as the children’s. What I have found is that losing baby teeth is a big deal with most kids. They can’t wait to show someone the gaping hole in their toothless smiles. This was part of the inspiration for my book. The other inspiration was hearing how much the students like to read in rhyme; it is like singing a song without the tune.”
Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Lois Solverud’s new book is an absorbing, colorful work that helps enhance children’s reading skills, creativity, and imagination.
