KRISTIN CARTWRIGHT INDUCTED TO WAKEBOARDING HALL OF FAME

Kristin Cartwright, Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s vice president of development services, has been inducted to the 2020 Wakeboarding Hall of Fame. One of the first women professional wakeboarders, Kristin was recognized throughout the world as “Buster Lutgert,” successfully competing across the United States and Europe during the 1990s in events such as the X-Games and Gravity Games. A pioneer at wakeboarding, she was also the first woman to land a whirlybird in competition.
Kristin joins her brother, Erik “Gator” Lutgert, who was inducted into the Wakeboarding Hall of Fame in 2015. Each year, the organization fields nominations, and through a panel of veteran industry leaders confirms the prestigious class of inductees that will be bestowed the eternal honor of becoming a Wakeboarding Hall of Fame member. The Wakeboarding Hall of Fame will permanently enshrine these new members into its hallowed halls with well-known current members such as Scott Byerly, Herb O’Brien, Shaun Murray, Tony Finn, Parks Bonifay and Darin Shapiro. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the induction ceremony will be held at a later time.
The Wakeboarding Hall of Fame’s mission is to honor and preserve the history of wakeboarding sports and to celebrate its pioneers and innovators while displaying significant artifacts for admirers to view and commemorate, both digitally and in physical locations. The Wakeboarding Hall of Fame was established in 2014 by industry visionaries who saw a need for honoring and preserving the history of wake sports.
Quote:
“I am honored to be recognized by the Wakeboarding Hall of Fame. This sport gave me opportunities to explore my passion, travel and gain unforgettable experiences along the way. I look forward to celebrating with my fellow inductees in the future.”
