Getting A Taxi Won’t Suck With New App That Starts National Rollout In Miami

ZabCab(TM), a new free mobile app connects passengers to taxi drivers with a tap on their smartphone. ZabCab makes getting a licensed taxi simple by showing passengers where their taxi is and when it will arrive. For taxi drivers the app increases the number of fares collected during a shift. Today ZabCab announced it is beginning its national rollout in Miami on May 14, making it the first of 110 cities nationwide to get ZabCab. The ZabCab team has been collaborating with city officials and local government to transform the way local residents and tourists get around. As a part of the launch, ZabCab’s founder and CEO, Martin Heikel will be at the new Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar in Coral Gables located at 169 Miracle Mile at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14 to present and answer questions about the mobile app.

“We created ZabCab to simplify and improve the way passengers connect with taxi drivers. No one enjoys flagging down a taxi or calling a dispatcher. ZabCab solves that problem,” says Heikel. “The app also addresses a growing outcry from taxi drivers seeking to remain locally competitive and improve their living wage.”

ZabCab was created to address a growing demand from both passengers and taxi drivers seeking improvements in local transportation systems. It connects passengers with licensed taxi drivers offering standardized rates. ZabCab is simple to use. A passenger only needs to download ZabCab, provide a first name and enter an email address. No need for a credit card or lengthy profile. Passengers no longer have to call for a taxi. With an easy tap on their smartphone they are ready to connect with a taxi driver. The app tells passengers where their taxi is, when it will arrive, and who the driver is.

ZabCab Front Desk, a variation of the passenger app, is launching simultaneously. It enables businesses to request a taxi on behalf of clients. This is especially useful for condo and apartment building doormen and hotel concierges. ZabCab Front Desk allows them to connect with a driver on behalf of their clients, letting them know who will be coming and when the driver will arrive. ZabCab Front Desk is available on the web and on mobile devices for added convenience.

ZabCab allows taxi drivers to maximize their earning potential each shift by spending less time seeking new passengers. For the first 100 days, drivers get unlimited fare requests for free. Afterwards, they can use five free fare requests a month, or pay a small weekly fee with no contract required for unlimited fare requests.

After its inaugural launch in Miami, ZabCab will be taking off in three major metropolitan cities over the next 90 days. Passengers, drivers and businesses in 110 cities nationwide will have ZabCab by 2017. Join Heikel on Thursday, May 14 for a press briefing at Crema’s new Coral Gables location at 169 Miracle Mile at 10:00 a.m.
