Author Roger Vanover’s New Book ‘Thar Ain’t a Tater in the House’ is a Humorous Post-World War II Tale of Fiction With a Hint of Truth

Roger Vanover has completed his new book, “Thar Ain’t a Tater in the House”: a humorous post-World War II tale.
In excerpts from the story, Vanover writes, “‘Ralph, don’t walk with your head down. There’s nothing shameful about running out of taters.’
My daddy said, ‘Ralph, don’t quit. Quitting follows you to the grave.’
The philosophy in these words were with Ralph from the time of his childhood. He heard them from relatives and witnessed the people around him live them.
Ralph lived under the protective wings of his grandparents until his father returned home at the end of World War II. His mother put his feet to the ground in cases of total guilt from unforgiving acts of youth curiosity. Ralph shot an arrow up in the sky; poor Ralph he knew where it landed, in the awning in front of his mother as she washed dishes.”
Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Roger Vanover’s new book is a tale of fiction with a sprinkling of truth told with a humorous tone that will compel readers to keep turning the pages.
