Author Maurice Huffman’s New Audiobook ‘Jake and the Hot Air Balloon’ is an Adventurous Tale of an Orphan Boy and His Mouse Friend Through an Unforgettable Journey

Maurice Huffman, a loving father who enjoys writing and performing music with his band Big Mo & the Full Moon Band, has completed his new audiobook “Jake and the Hot Air Balloon”: an enthralling story of the orphan Jake and his friend Milton the Mouse as they embark on many adventures, some highly amusing and others quite dangerous.
Author Huffman recounts the unpredictable nature of life akin to a hot air balloon, and each person’s ability to steer it as he or she wills – a comparison to mastering fate: “Jake now knew that he would never return to the orphanage. He has resigned to the thought that there was nowhere to go home to, and that his future and his home lay in front of him wherever the winds might carry him. Fritz told him that they were somewhere over the Caribbean. So, Jake decided to start a slow descent since he had never seen the Caribbean Sea. Slowly, he decreased the amount of heat to the balloon, and they started a slow descent once they had cleared the edge of the alpland.”
Published by Audiobook Network, author Maurice Huffman’s new audiobook is positively delightful and lighthearted.
This adventurous novel shows the importance of friendship and camaraderie amidst overwhelming feelings of loneliness and weariness. The audiobook is also an inspiration to the bedtime stories Huffman tells his son Miles, and he hopes that the stories endure on to his grandchildren one day.
Listeners can purchase the audiobook edition of “Jake and the Hot Air Balloon” by Maurice Huffman through Audible, the Apple iTunes Store, or Amazon.
Audiobooks are the fastest growing segment in the digital publishing industry. According to The Infinite Dial 2019, 50% of Americans age 12 and older have listened to an audiobook. This huge growth can be partly attributed to increased listening in cars, which surpassed the home as the #1 audiobook listening location in the 2019 survey. Smart speaker proliferation also bodes well for future listening growth and more mainstream listening.
