Author Edgar D. Meyers, Jr.’s New Book, ‘A Big Backyard Adventure’ is an Epic Adventure of a Young Boy With a Vast Imagination

Edgar D. Meyers, Jr., proud husband, father and grandfather who was a professional Santa Claus for over a decade, has completed his/her new book, “A Big Backyard Adventure”: an enthralling chapter book of epic adventures.
Meyers shares, “I am David’s grandfather. We purchased the house with the big backyard from David’s parents. Grandma needed the ramps and handicap shower that had been installed for David’s cerebral-palsied sister, Jillian. At college breaks, David would spend an afternoon and evening visiting his boyhood home and grandparents. On this particular occasion, he sat with me on the back porch, and we reminisced about playing football in this big backyard. We would huddle with our imaginary team… David never tired. Even when he called for the “whole” Mary on our two-yard line with two seconds left to play! We had many 10-0 seasons. Dusk begins to gather. David fell unusually quiet. “Grandpa,” he finally said. “I want to tell you a story. I have only told my dad, but I don’t think he believed me. You may not believe me either.” He was quiet again. He took a deep breath and began. And, now, dear reader, I’d like to share that story with you. I certainly believed it and I strongly suspect his dad did, too. And I think you will, also.”
Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Edgar D. Meyers, Jr.’s new book begins when David finds piles of cardboard outside the garage and has a vision of becoming a knight on horseback.  After bringing his vision to life, with the help of his father, David’s adventure truly begins.
